I haven’t watched since 1974. Many hours of life thus saved for more useful things.

What was insufferable was how many coloured announcers they drug up to compensate.

Chris Rock put a cultural conversation born out of embarrassing institutional racism into painful perspective. He shocked, prodded and made those responsible for those failings wholly uncomfortable. No gig is more scrutinized with so little professional gain as the thankless job of hosting the Oscars. This is not a forum to address global debates about inclusiveness, opportunity and progress. Black citizens, like everyone else, want opportunity. Black actors should get the same opportunities as white actors. That’s it, and not just once. White actors get great parts and a chance to participate on their own merits every year. “Hollywood is sorority racist. It’s like, ‘We like you Rhonda, but you’re not Kappa.’ That’s how Hollywood is.” -Rock

So what you are saying is that Hollywood should have affirmative action? Parts should be given to black actors only because they are black? Hollywood is a money industry, if black actors and actresses brought in more money, they would be getting the parts, because it is not white or black so much as it is green.
