Scalia said money was free speech, that’s why so many turkeys ran on the republican side, they were all collecting free speech payoffs. Republicans love free stuff when it goes directly to them and no one else.
Yes.. lobby groups and congress are still for sale. And.. as shown over the last 7 years have all the power..It is an absolute myth that the President is the most powerful. He can be blamed.. for everything but getting things done.. nada
No amount of money would be able to stop Sanders or Trump. They are backed by ideas and supporters who believe in them. as for congress http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2010/09/congress-corporate-sponsors
I tell ya, htg, I think Trump got into this partly as a lark and partly for a bigger stage to plop his ego on; and now he just can’t believe there are so many venal, stupid people who will swallow ANY thing he says and he’s just pushing, pushing, pushing to see just how far his sociopathic, utterly hateful behavior will be allowed to go.
All this fuss and bother! Whoever is elected President will still have to deal with the oligarchy that owns Congress and all the candidates except Bernie and Donald, who, if elected, will have the crap beaten out of him in Washington. Trump, too, his mouth still spewing.
It’s a nice cartoon but I have to agree with the other liberals who see Hillary as fully employed by Wall Street. Bernie and Trump are not beholden to moneybags.

The big money donors, inherited from W. are evidently now going to Marco Polio.
The other question is W’s foreign policy advisers — are they also going to Marco Polio?
