Considering all the hubbub about changing artists on the Id Wizard, reminds me that I liked the amazing perspectives the previous artist here used to do. Sometimes took me a few minutes to figure out what I was seeing, and I loved that amazement.
Too many talking animals was the reason I stopped reading “Overboard”. I hope “Rose” isn’t on the same path. At least the animals here don’t have conversations with the humans (yet).
I have read “Rose is Rose” from the very beginning and have many of the book collections. It’s changed somewhat over the years, and has had several styles. I have always found it charming. Although my tastes have veered into cynical and saracastic strips quite a bit recently, coming back to “Rose” at least temporarily renews my optimism..How hard it must be to draw a strip year after year, and I salute Pat Brady for sticking it with it, however large or small his present role might be. In my opinion, he has created lasting comic characters comparable to those of the longest running strips.
If the house had the capacity for exactly 4 squirrels, then should it not have held them? It would take a 5th squirrel to make it collapse. Say, where is Murphy?

Suggestion: spin the squirrels off into their own ‘toon, and bring Rose and the other humans back to ’Rose is Rose’.
Just a suggestion…

Love the expressions on the faces of the three “innocent” squirrels. . .you can almost hear them whistling, too. . .
