‘Crept the supposed “gun free zones”, aren’t. And as long as you can buy a gun a mile outside the cities with “strong” gun laws, and own a car, those don’t work either. It will take national, sensible, regulations, like background checks, competency proof and proof of education, and yes, licensing, just like my state’s CCP law. It won’t get all the nuts’ guns off the streets right away, but you have to start somewhere.

Yo Mike, one doesn’t need to be crazy to be shot at a gun-show, but it helps:“For The Sixth Time In One Week, Man Shot At Gun Show” – Jan 26, 2013http://thinkprogress.org/justice/2013/01/26/1500431/for-the-sixth-time-in-one-week-man-shot-at-gun-show/

    Someone’s been collecting these stories for a while:Pinterest : “Gun Show Accidents”https://uk.pinterest.com/david6212/gun-show-accidents/

Now imagine all these “responsible” people with concealed carry permits wandering all over the USA. Makes you all warm and fuzzy inside, doesn’t it?

Again, Mike, any comment on the instructors on this site:http://alerrt.org/“Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) Center at Texas State University”They train law enforcement, not your average concealed carry gun permit holder.

http://www.ksat.com/news/alerrt-center-warns-chl-holders-ahead-of-campus-carry-law“ALERRT Center warns CHL holders ahead of Campus Carry law.Law allowing guns on campuses could affect officer response to active shooters”

“Dr. Pete Blair, executive director of Texas State University’s ALERRT Center — or Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Center — has a warning for concealed handgun license holders who plan to carry guns on campus.

“If there’s an active shooter event and you’re a person with a gun, you look like the active shooter,” Blair said. “You need to know that. You need to be aware of that. You need to know that if police see you with a gun, there’s a high probability that you will be shot.”

    Oops.

Incidences of gun show shootings pale in comparison to a weekend in Chicago.

Seems pretty easy to connect the dots here. From NRA to gun ranges to gun shows – these killers then swagger into the gun free zones and start shooting knowing they have the backing from the previous stops.

“Tell that to the BlackLivesMatter activists.”

Your police shoot Black people even if they aren’t carrying a gun, are 12, walking away with a knife, get shot in the back running away (unarmed)…

“Car accidents kill way more persons than guns… Guns aren’t even in the top ten.”

So “let’s not deal with it all” is your response. It needs to be a top ten to get your attention?Car safety features have brought down deaths from car accidents. Would you have prefered this was not the case? Next to bring down the number of deaths with cars involved is probably anti drink-driving campaigns. But you’d be against that, too I suppose. Like the crash-helmet.

@DagNabbit — Actually, cars kill about the same number of people as guns do. And, of course, cars are FAR MORE REGULATED than guns. We require by law seatbelts and all kinds of safety design features on cars because the statistics prove these save lives. Maybe if we required gun owners to carry insurance that would have to pay out if their guns were used in the commission of a crime, the insurance companies would lobby for gun safety rules.

…what, Obama can’t feel grief over the lives of 20 dead schoolchildren? Apparently you can not. Is that kind of massacre a reasonable price to pay so you can keep your death stick toys?

And your average have-a-go hero knows what to do in an active shooter situation? Don’t ask me, ask ALERRT.

When there’s a gun store across the street from your church, or one a half mile away from your school, or dozens of gun shops and “shows” only a few miles from Chicago or New York, those aren’t “gun free zones”.

Gun free zones are dangerous at best, time to eliminate them?

You seem to be much safer where there is no sign prohibiting guns.

Gun free zones are far more often hit by crazies with guns than places whee guns are allowed.

One of the most dangerous places these days is a “no guns allowed” building.
