Wanna laugh, check out the greeting cards R. Crumb did for the American Greeting Card company before he started Zap Comix. http://raggedclaws.com/2009/06/21/look-here-greeting-cards-by-r-crumb/For better and worse, nobody like Crumb.

Brings me back to my years in Hallmark Cards Contemporary Design Studio when I joined in 1961. We wrote & illustrated funny Valentine cards. Many writer/artists on the staff started their own comic strips.

Just as much as the men who send them and say nothing the rest of the year…

I don’t believe in cards, and never have. I do believe in my local public school, which is excellent, teaches, reading, writing, critical thinking, and even (gasp!) cursive. We don’t really do sport much, just activity and play and games.

…better than the ones I had as a child.

If you don’t believe in public schools, and you do nothing to better them, you are essentially deciding you want society down the toilet for the vast majority of people. Public schools are the way up for the very people comicsssfan professes to love- those whose parents don’t care enough to teach them much, or to spend a ton of money on private school, which is mostly successful because it’s full of people with money who care enough to send them.
