Great question! The reason I use it so much is that it’s pretty quick to color that background compared to, say, a supermarket or a vintage traction engine rally. Also, I do have a strict “no copy and paste” rule in place. Every frame you see in the strip is drawn from scratch using fresh ink. It’s the artisanal “farm-to-table” approach to cartooning :-)
