Write it off to inexperience. I thought I saw something similar with an applicant’s demo tape on the Mary Tyler Moore show. Now Les Nessman was a pretty bad sports reporter, but I don’t think he was that bad.
Obviously, his writer doesn’t care about ridiculous sporting events.
