    A lot of people do that , give whats expired or worse yet perishable. And yes Z the dates are checked. The Pennys are like a lot of people out there.

    I did this with the Cub Scouts. We got a jar of white asparagus, two envelopes of Kettle Popcorn from an open box because they didn’t like it, a tin of anchovies, black olives, diced rutabagas, beets… Those needy must have had some feast!

    I was in charge of a can drive once. You wouldn’t believe how many bulging, leaking cans we got. Or cans of foreign exotic whatever-it- is! Like (really!) chocolate covered baby bumble bees! And octopus in chili sauce !
