He’ll probably starve to death – if he hasn’t already, with the dog locked in the crate and the food on the floor.

I was thinking the same. It’s a wonder Patti made it to adulthood.

God forbids! I would put these people in the crate and let the dog out.

Whoever asked them to watch their dog must be stupid too. Anyone intelligent who knows them would not ask anything that requires responsibility of them. Anyone who doesn’t know them, would not ask them anyway. Who would ask anyone to watch their dog if they did not know them?

These people are suppose to offend normal sensibilities. That’s the crux of the strip. We laugh it off and presume our moral superiority. No need to get upset and ruin your day.

I hope it’s not a scorcher outside. The neighbors might come back and find a dead dog. Burl and Joy would say, “We don’t know what happened to him. He was such a good dog!”
