Will 2016 mark the return of the Governor and his better half?
Just a day before Neil Wick brought up the subject of custom Vista Bill t-shirts, I ordered a polo shirt with embroidered logo from Vistaprint for $19.95 including shipping with a discount code. No pocket, Gweedo!.
Happy New Year, all.I wonder how Specs plans to cash in on those glasses, and how it’s related to the case drawing Tracy and the other detectives together.
I knew it! Specs is going down the same path to disaster that Ray Milland did in “X: The Man with the X-Ray Eyes”. The main difference is that Milland’s character was motivated by scientific curiosity and a desire to help visually impaired people; Specs is just a thief. And he will likely become a murderer as well.
I don’t see Specs as a major criminal. I see him as a little man with an ambition to make the big time, who will become the victim/patsy of bigger crooks.
Side effects include x-ray vision, a life of crime, in extreme cases death by Dick Tracy and the Major Crime Unit. Call your doctor if you experience any of these…
I imagine the voyeurs would each like a pair of those glasses. TSA already has a jump on the technology. Had my wife owned a pair of them, she prolly wouldn’t have married me!
I see Specs thus far (and me, without X-Ray specs!) as just a rather thoughtless penny-ante would-be hood who’s going to get into trouble way above his pay grade. Not sure if Spicy is into a life of crime, but she may turn out to be an Innocent Victim/Bystander when the going gets rough. I don’t yet see any connection to the Three (or Four, as Mike implied in a post over on that social networking site) Detectives, but that will no doubt come along as Specs begins to act out his fantasies and draws the attention of Law Enforcement….
I expect we’ll see the detectives again once Specs’ plan is established, but I think I promised some information on Ivanov then ran out of time with holiday travel.
As nailer was saying a few days ago, we first met Detective Ivanov in 1986. President Reagan signed an agreement for a cultural exchange with the Russians and personally invited Dick Tracy to the Whitehouse to ask him to exchange with a similar-ranked detective from Moscow. They spent time working with each other’s colleagues but never met each other at this time although they passed in the airport when Tracy returned to the U.S.
I will update later with the time they all got together.

I can see specs going to Vegas and playin’ him some blackjack, and any other games where he can see the dealer’s hand.
Those would be useful for some gambling games. I’m sure Mr. Specs is trying to think of any other possibilities, too.Neil Wick over 8 years ago

For some reason, Specs makes me think of this guy.
For anyone who doesn’t recognize the person in the picture, it’s Speck Rhodes from “The Porter Waggoner Show.”

As was pointed out in earlier comments on another day, the name should have been “Ivanov.” Ivanova is the feminine version of that surname.
