Wallace: Dad, this is our tree. Mr. McClellan: Wallace, that tree is way way way- way too big Wallace: Not if you put a hole in the roof. Then you'd be able to see our tree from the street. Plus a ceiling hole would be essential if I get a jet pack for Christmas. Mrs. McClellan: I've always wanted a skylight! Mr. McClellan: This tree is way too big.

Ceiling hole and a jet pack – seems reasonable to me. Then again I wanted a grand piano AND a pony most every Christmas of my childhood. Poor Wallace. Reality bites.

I never realized till I was older, but in our kitchen we have an imitation skylight. I just thought it was a framed and lined rectangle light like at stores. But apparently when my parents built the house they compromised because a real skylight is too much work.
