Not surprising, with American Christian Reconstructionist core beliefs being so different than biblical Christianity.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_Reconstructionism

Hmm, the Jews didn’t seem to welcome the kid into the fold when he changed the rules. He spent some time out on the desert, and when he came back, he was rejected by majority of the population.

Our current national attitude, at least according to polls and media, is to reject refuge, and claim we’re the ones with “open hearts and open minds”. Right.

Remember when the fashionable thing for christians of certain evangelizing sects was to wear jewelry with “WWJD” or the equivalent on it – “what would Jesus do”. I bet Jesus wouldn’t be a Republican bent on slamming the door on people fleeing from war and poverty. But then I’m not a christian and don’t purport to get daily messages from god. I have to rely on what Jesus said in his short life on earth. Maybe the message “I’m a hypocrite” was engraved on the flip side of that jewelry.

    1. The Bible’s Christian “nativity” is exclusively Christian. No other religion has a God-the-Son choosing to be born a Jewish baby to grow up to teach His people, Israel, the Kingdom messages; and to give his human life to pay for (atone) for our collective sins, as the only Sinless human ever to live on earth, so all who trust in His promises may put Faith in Jesus and be forgiven of sins and receive eternal life.-2.America has always been careful with immigration laws to screen and refuse entrance to any that would be harmful to our nation. There have been periods when immigration was stopped because of crimes committed by foreigners with agendas to assassinate our leaders. The Statue of Liberty was never intended to symbolize totally “open doors to all”….-3. “the kid” in the “nativity” is God in the form of a Jewish baby in the line of David, as prophesized beforehand. Jesus fulfilled every jot and tittle of the Mosaic Law. He did not end the Law, but created the possibility of etching the Law of God into the “hearts” of all who put Faith and trust in God’s only Saviour, Jesus the Christ. The Mosaic Law at least in part will be restored when Jesus returns to stop Antichrist and the world armies who will invade Israel and die at a word from Jesus when He stands on the Mount in Jerusalem at His Second Coming. At that time 100% of Islamic Global Jihad will be ended. Wars will cease for the 1,000 years of God’s Kingdom of Heaven on Earth, with Jesus ruling from the restored throne of David the King. -Because the Minority leadership in Israel rejected Jesus (the majority of Jews loved Him) God set Israel as a nation aside for the duration of the Church Age, which is coming to a very soon ending. At Jesus’ Return to Jerusalem, Israel will be the ruling nation, as the Jew, Jesus, will be King of Earth.-4. to participate and be given eternal life with your name not blotted out from God’s Book of Life, for rejecting Jesus as Saviour, you must agree with your Creator God’s assessment that all humans are sinners in need of salvation, and pray and ask God the Father to save you in the name of God the Son, Jesus. Then no matter what day it is in God’s calendar, you will be a member of God’s family, destined to an eternal life with Him and with all the adopted Faith children who trusted Jesus.

“A more accurate PC “nativity scene” would be with no Christian symbol manger…”If you were trying to say something other than making a snide comment about non-Christians, you failed.

Your comment makes no sense to me. The message of the cartoon is that America wants to keep out the very Middle East people who inhabit the Christian Nativity scene—Muslims. What is a “manara?” Jesus was a Jew. To celebrate the eight days of Chanukkah (which has nothing to do with Christmas), Jews light the menorah candles. http://www.jewfaq.org/holiday7.htm

Can’t help but notice it’s the Republican states who write letters saying they won’t let the refugees in. Can’t help but point out that those letters are meaningless, useless, and futile. It’s not up to them.

dtroutmaAs one duly ordained in that denomination, I recognized the slam against “Open Doors, Open Minds, Open Hearts” motto. Keep it up and send a copy to the Council of Bishops; they need to hear it. They don’t listen to me any more.

Pooka knows there’s no way he could have read the comment first! It took him three hours to write it, and two of those hours were proofreading, so how could somebody have commented an hour after he posted it? It’s ironclad.

Hiram BinghamNot really. Myth is a way of expressing truth through fiction in a way that mere data cannot. The Truth is constant. The ways of expressing it vary and all are flawed because they are human creations. It should not be surprising similarities exist. “God is one, humans use different names.” Ironically, that is a Muslim saying.
