“Follow the money”, and we can reinstate the manned space program?
Whether a NASA official, or a taxi driver in Missoula, anyone saying ANYTHING positive about Islam, or Islamic countries is fodder for the hate machine. Now if we just had the USSR, Uncle HO, and Nazis to kick around again.
Fanaticism in the U.S. is every bit as rampant, and senseless, as in any “furrin” country or culture.
perfect illustration of how Obama has brought “CHANGE” to NASA.
Instead of a Space Agency, it is now by order of the president, a “soft diplomatic agency” and the mission is to try to help Islamics feel good about all those mythical “advances” they contributed to civilization.
Sort of a “Self Esteem” federal program for Muslims.
But no more federal money for space shuttles or space missions.
Russia is now #1 in Space. The USA has opted out under Obama.
with very FEW exceptions, this country has been at war for most of it’s existence - don’t see why they’ll change.
they’d turn our ammunition back at us.
The cost of the shuttle program escalated HUGELY to meet “military requirements”. The new concepts on manned vehicles are closer to what NASA wanted before the generals stepped in.(as in much smaller vehicles at lower cost)
BUSH started cutting the budgets- on a lot of valuable programs, because they didn’t increase corporate profits, or blow people up, so they were axed.
DisgustedTaxPayer – you’re disgusted that we’re NOT spending tons of taxpayer dollars on this? Wouldn’t you be one of those who is up for privatizing everything?
Name an Arab or Muslim COUNTRY that has attacked the U.S.- none.
Name the Arab/Muslim countries we’ve attacked, or allowed to be attacked in our interest (or AIPAC’s). Iraq, Jordan, Syria, Egypt, Lebanon, well you start to get the picture.
Our #1 “Arab ally” is Saudi Arabia, the most repressive of all, putting the flap over stoning in Iran to shame.
But the REAL point is, recognizing cultures that have contributed, over centuries, not just since WW I, to human development, isn’t as stupid as blowing them up and asking questions later.
I have no experience of living in a Moslem country, but I do know quite a few Moslems, and I have found that they are pretty much like everyone else I know. I have several Moslem colleagues, and they seem to get along well with everyone else, including Jews. I’ve had a number of Moslem students, no problems. We have female students who cover themselves – some entirely, except for their hands and their eyes – and no one seems particularly perturbed. A former student of mine who lives in our neighborhood is now teaching ancient history in the public school system. He’s a great guy, and I’m sure he’s a great teacher. I just don’t get the hysteria about Moslems.
I’m still trying to understand how spending billions on obsolete weapons systems used to deter the USSR back in 1978 (but still did nothing to keep them from invading Afghanistan, themselves, nor did it “deter” 9/11), and still more billions on re-achieving the “moon shot” is going to help reduce the deficit.
Soon as the Cons get their story straight, I’ll listen. Until then, a Con is a con is a con living in the past in a BIG way, with not a helluva lot to offer the discussion.

NASA now means “National Arab Sensitivity Association” thanks to the racist Obama regime.
