Let’s not repeat the internment of Japanese and Germans like we did in the second world war. That experience alone should have taught us a lesson on what a bad course of action that was.
Tom is able to express his opinion, which may be different than yours or mine, because we are allowed to in this contry. In a non-proportional, binary political system, our differences are exaggerated. Since Tom won’t tell us how he got his opinions we can only guess. This may explain some of his anger.http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2015/11/23/6-key-takeaways-about-how-americans-view-their-government/
My first girlfriend at age 6, was born to American citizens, in a prison camp in Idaho in 1944. My own ancestors in what became Georgia and the Carolinas, welcomed immigrants, only to be betrayed and have their lands seized by irgnorant savages, in Congress, led by Andrew Jackson’s drunken crazies. That seems the same situation with TEA party members and other right wingers in Congress today.
^ Out of hundreds of comments on GoComics with typos & grammatical errors, you’re going to call this one out? I’m familiar enough with modern technology to be aware that many people are posting on a smartphone, which may ‘auto-corrupt’ whatever they meant to type.Pointing out typos makes you look like someone who either has too much time on his hands or someone who can’t actually argue with what someone is saying.
“^ Out of hundreds of comments on GoComics with typos & grammatical errors, you’re going to call this one out?”Yep, absolutely!Dude. Come on. It was just meant in jest, just a little bit of ribbing in a funny graphic. People are so sensitive these days. I don’t do this type of grammar thing often, but if someone is going to insult a poster’s comment as dumb, then insinuate that he must not live in an English-speaking country, all while thoroughly mangling it in his own message — well, that’s just asking for the little crown of shame. Here, let me fix that into a properly-worded insult for him: “Wow, [comma] that comment is just dumb. You must not be from the States [capitalized], because you have [two words] to know English to live here…[ellipsis is three dots] unless you’re [you are] Spanish [capitalized], [comma] of course.”
