“Body count” won’t win this one either.

In Nam those who had to provide the Body Count quickly came to the realization that all they had to provide was the Body Count those in charge wanted – no one checked and no one questioned.

Of course we were fighting a people whose leader understood how things worked: Again and again he told his followers: ” America will come, they will kill many of us, we will kill a few of them, they will become tired and they will leave.”

Are we tired yet?

As I recall, if you really added up the body counts in Vietnam, we exterminated the entire population of Vietnam several times over. Amazing…

The first Bush got it right. Define an achievable objective (Iraq out of Kuwait), get in, get done, get out. Building nations is for the residents. If they build one that harbors terrorists, shoot them again.

^^ circa 1930 the british split the 19th provence of iraq off by force and named it kuwait, when iraq wanted more money for their oil. circa 1912 the USers sent a gunboat to colombia when they wanted to build and own the panama canal, that’s why it was called the canal zone until the carter administration. tibet splitting off from china goes way back so i won’t hazard to make a date here.
