The ugly american writ large. We should stay out of the rest of the world until we grow up and know how to act.

They’ll be lucky if they even get that kind of ugly american. I’m seeing a lot of ‘they brought it on themselves because they were so Islamohobic’ kind of ugliness.

Needless to say that if the US had opted out of the Iraq war like the French we would not have Daesh to worry about.

…unfortunately more than a grain of truth to this one.

The French President was perfectly aware of the risk not to him, of course, but to the French people of sending bombers to Syria. Everyone in the intelligence community had been trying to prepare for retaliation attacks, even if they fully knew they were incapable of preventing them.

But what is that compared to the benefits of getting a few points up in his polls, that went abysmal quickly after he had taken office.

Even Reagan and Bush Sr. were smarter: They only send troops to Grenada and Panama.

Polls should indeed be evaluated in terms of massacred aliens, with extra points for specific colours and religions.

Let’s not start a “next war,” OK?

No need for conspiracy theories, and no danger of opting out like in 2003: Hollande and his govt follow US like poodles, as Sarkozy did.
