I’m not sure reversing front and back is the best description although it is closer to what is going on. Nothing is being reversed, but your frame of reference is changed.

Its only an image, so its ok to say its reversed. The reversal is, indeed, front to back.
A concave mirror will show the reflection upside down.
And the ewe keeps finding and saying the dumb thing!
