Folks who KNOW Constitutional law, and are willing to support and DEFEND the actual document, are more highly qualified.
Also, those presenting before the Supreme Court quite often have more experience than those sitting on the bench at the time.
It does sound good. And he obviously left Kagan’s name out of his speech intentionally. I’ve seen no evidence that she intends to support or defend the constitution.
Cartoons like this would be more effective if they were more historically accurate. Obama, as some may remember, took a stand against the Iraq war when it was most definitely not the popular thing to do.
Whether you think the war was justified or not, it’s not reasonable to characterize his action in that case as avoiding taking a position on a divisive issue. Skelly undercuts his own point by ignoring that.
