I thought Val wouldn’t know because Phil and Holly were going Christmas shopping for Val (and Alix and everyone else in the Stone family).

Well, Phil—you still get points with Holly for trying.

I think Holly deserves points for remembering Val eventhough she expected her to be against. She could have simply claimed that Phil had enough authority to allow her to go for a bike ride with him.

Holly gains point for having to have Phil to ask. Some ways I do not blame Val for saying no. I viewed too many men on motorcycles not smart driving. I followed one man did antics on his motorcycle on a highway drivers and I was passing and was shocked unbelievable what he was doing showing off before he tore off. Another motorcyclist made a left turn in front of me I had to slam on my brakes on a highway or he would be a ornament in front of my car with me having bad thoughts.

This encapsulates how I learned the meaning of it’s easier to ask for forgiveness than permission

You have to remember, Phil was almost killed on his motorcycle during the time that he and Val were dating.

Way over protective mother. Kid’s have to grow up and if you can’t feel safe with you husband, who’s a cop, who can you feel safe with.

My husband has ridden a motorcycle for several years and is very safe about it but I WON’T allow myself to ride with him. It’s not his riding that scares me, it’s the car drivers who don’t look where they’re going that scare me.

I would trust Phil over everyone. It’s not like he was going to pop wheelies and stuff

I had to stop riding – my accident at 70+ didn’t kill me, but I was just too nervous to ride any more.

I remember my first motorcycle ride. I was smart enough to not ask my parents first – figured it was better to seek forgiveness than ask permission.

I pulled a stunt like this when I was 11 and my folks were out of town. The teenage girl next door was looking after me, and when her boyfriend came over on his motorcycle he offer to take both of us to a carnival in town. I rode on the back behind his girlfriend, and had the time of my life … until I got home and the phone rang – my folks had been calling all over wondering where I had gone. We do stupid things as kids.

Hey Jan…could we start a serial plot? The comment board has trickled down because there’s no sequel episode to look forward to each week. It used to be that I couldn’t wait for the next installment each day. It was like reading a novel. Now I almost have to remind myself to check the strip on sunday. Don’t get me wrong. I still love this comic. but there’s no plot arc so I sometimes forget. I think it would be more fun for you too i.e. having a continuous story. You wouldn’t have to wonder what to do each week.

Remember… It is always easier to ask for Forgiveness than it is to ask for Permission… So just do it, and try not to get caught.

Hi, I just joined this site. I notice this strip has large gaps in its history – ex: Nov 29 to Dec 6. Is there a pattern or is it random as to when the next strip appears? Thx for any replies.
