Years ago, my wife said she wanted a bird feeder in the back yard so she could watch the birds. Dutiful husband I am, I brought a nice one home from my hardware store, and placed it in the lawn on a pole so it was visible from the deck.
I also brought home a large bag of mixed bird seed and we kept the feeder full. I noticed a lot of seeds were being scattered on the lawn around the pole. The following year, we had such a crop of weeds it was a good thing I also sold weed killers in my store!

Sunflower seeds have a lot of fat in them. My bird’s Vet told me to buy seed without sunflower seeds .
