2009: Obama says U.S. will withdraw from Afghanistan. (Barack Obama: I will bring this war to a successful conclusion.) 2010: Obama says withdrawal on schedule for 2011. (Barack Obama: We're confident.) 2011: Obama says all troops will be out by late 2012. (Barack Obama: America, it is time to focus on nation building here at home.) 2012: Obama signs secret agreement keeping troops there until at least 2024. Dec. 28, 2014: U.S. leads official end of war ceremony in Kabul. (Barack Obama: It's time for Afghans to take the lead.) 2015: Obama to spend more troops at least through 2017. (Barack Obama: Whoever set up that ceremony should die.) (Man: And now we have enough troops to kill him!)

All war all the time, still with no coherent rationale. Maybe he should send a drone after whoever set up the ceremony.

Exactly what is the strategic value of Afghanistan? What are we doing there? Why are we there?

Why are we there? Freedom? Democracy?Our troops are told they can’t intervene when Afghan officials rape little boys and I can’t imagine a more important freedom than not being raped.Mr. President WHY THE HELL ARE OUR TROOPS THERE?

Sarcasm is wasted on the average reader who will not grasp that the statements have been turned on their head. And anyone who wants to get the minerals out of Afghanistan had better do something about the people who live on top of all that ore.
