Affordable education, affordable health, crumbling infrastructure, and not the highest wealth disparity among the developed countries is bad for the nation. The wealthiest, who control the political system, must be allowed to hoard their obscene wealth.

Also public lands bring in huge amounts to the taxpayers, and could have long brought in vastly more if “Capitalist” folks hadn’t given away so many resources like gold, oil, timber, grazing in many Congresses over two centuries, giving away the land itself is also still going on.
Watching Ben Carson on TV this morining and it reminded me that even intelligent people like doctors, aren’t necessarily SANE people! Of course, schizophrenia is a bit of a diagnosis of “politics” in any person competing in the field.
The middle class is exactly what “socialism” will devastate. As long as our tax code is “progressive”; the rich will weasel out of paying them leaving that massive burden of “freebies” to the battered middle class to pay for.

So far he is only admitting a small amount, and given how the ACA has worked out for the middle class, the increases are likely to be more than “a little bit”.
So conservatives say everything “socialist” or “liberal” is the layabouts stealing their taxes, but ignore the fact that Democrats and liberals raising those taxes ARE saying there ain’t no free lunch. The free lunch goes to corporations, and those sucking the country dry, literally of oil, at Shell, Exxon Mobil et al, and the ranchers and miners getting that almost free lunch for their livestock on public lands, or a penny to the taxpayers per billion dollars of profit for mining operations.
