U.S. policies cannot solve the problems of the world. At best, it can try to keep a lid on things, under which, the pressure only builds. How about some leadership from the U.N.?
Strange, isn’t it, that the Taliban are now not only stronger than they ever were since 2001, but are now strong in parts of Afghanistan – Kunduz comes to mind – where they had never had a presence before?
1. It was support during the Reagan administration that funded bin Laden and the rise of the Taliban.
2. I believe even Colin Powell in discussing boss’s actions that “You break it, you bought it.”, applies to both Afghanistan and Iraq, and Bush/Cheney and the PNAC.
^neither, actually, in 2001. Bush/Cheney were already focused on Saddam until Sept 11, then later that day, and on Sept 12, Rumsfeld and Cheney wanted to invade Iraq, not Afghanistan.
