What’s the probability Rev Croom’s complaints are due to not being given the ENTIRE winnings?

Our church celebrated it’s 165th anniversary this past June.We were blessed to have Rev. L.K. Curry as our guest speaker that Sunday. In his message he mentioned gambling winnings being donated to a church he pastored years ago.The outcome was different from what happened here.Search out the Olivet Baptist Church of Chicago,IL on the web to hear the sermon.

My father had a situation like that, earmarked for an organ. He said he would accept it if it were anonymous, to avoid people looking at it and saying, “That’s from the biggest gambler in the county.” The offer was withdrawn.

Most pastors today wouldn’t care where the money came from as long as they got some.

Well Rev. At least he was honest about it. I don’t think my Pastor would have lectured him like that. A gentle rebuke goes a long way.

This looks like a rerun. But, it’s good.

My pastor would not have taken it. He would have gently rebuked the person and given scripture to back it up.
