    It is true the US has the highest pharmaceutical prices in the world. They are about thirty percent less outside the US. Another result of the Republican policy to protect big business at all costs. Let Medicare bid competitively for medications and the problem will go away.

    I can’t confirm this, but I remember reading a few years ago that the top career choice among College Republicans is Pharma Lobbyist.

    Republicans banned Medicare from negotiating drug prices, increasing cost to taxpayers by 300-7,000 percent; brilliant fiscal conservatives.

    That was one of the many compromises made to pass the ACA; none of which is acknowledged by any republican, and which did not persuade any of them to vote for it. At least Big Pharma didn’t lobby against it.
