An unemployment check does not replace a paycheck, it give you enough to buy food.Yes Middle America the dumbest people around Voting against their best interests
Don’t have a problem with unemployment benefits for those that lost their jobs. Just have a problem with all the other free handouts to those to lazy to work, or think that it is their God given right to have as many kids as they want & then expect tax payers to support them.
Fishdog: Don’t forget all the rich people who get tax deductions for a variety of things… to the point where Rockefeller actually didn’t pay ANY taxes one year; That is a form of welfare too… for those who don’t need it. We just call it by a different name. Then too, you have all those rich CEO’s who go to the best restaurants and yet are able to let the company pay for the dinner as a tax deduction. Meanwhile the average Joe has to pay out of his own salary. Isn’t that ALSO a form of “Welfare”?Why do so many people spout off against “welfare bums” when half the subsidies and special privileges are actually for those who need them the least? Most farms in America are huge conglomerates, but they still get government subsidies – sometimes for NOT producing certain crops. THAT is just as bad as a person getting hand-outs for their kid;..but I don’t hear you complaining about that; maybe it’s time to re-think your post, no?

Smee, I actually complain about BOTH.People laid off or fired don’t get ENOUGH in jobless benefits. CEOs and corporations get far too MUCH.
