Well, I remember them being very blunt at times. An old lady told me off once for not saying “Guten Morgen” when I came into the bakery. My Gymnasium teacher thought I had a weak character because of the limpness of my handshake. And our German friend who visited us insisted on stopping frequently in order to turn off or on his tracking device, so that he could record down to the Meter how far he had hiked.
I am sorry I did not recognize your sarcasm. It does seem very strange to me that VW would have taken this chance. The pain of being caught far outweighs the gain.

Oh please. Not the old “I’m just following orders” excuse. I lived there for a while and still have friends there. They know right from wrong.
