Yes. A good example for those who hate government and love businesses. Only one of those entities has your health and well-being as a priority. The other one, it’s next quarter’s profits. Let’s hope we don’t make the mistake of electing a business person to be president.
Still tryng to figure out the rationale for the cutoff device, as in Europe, the VW and Mercedes diesels ARE much cleaner due to stricter regulations, and get very good performance and fuel mileage. But in the U.S., its stockholders out for even an additional penny of profit, not the public being poisoned, who rule the legislative process with “conservative” “conservationists” in Congress, and writing regulations for agencies.
^btw; while the emissions is 40 tmes higher than allowed on those certain models, can’t find figures yet on performance impact, mileage etc., which leaves that “rationale” missing from VWs argument, especially as other diesel models don’t cheat, or have to…

Continue to be amazed at what major companies do for a buck. Makes one wonder what we have missed over the years. And regulation is a bad thing?
