I remember those old 3 channel televisions. Unfortunately, NBC was the only channel we could receive well enough to watch. It was a big upgrade to get a color TV that had NBC, ABC, CBS & PBS! However, when I moved out on my own, I couldn’t afford a color TV, so I bought a B&W. I think I could get one or two more channels, but nothing was on after midnight. When I was working 3rd shift, I had a hard time staying awake on my nights off, so I could get my body’s clock adjusted. No one to talk to on the phone, no TV to watch. Wished I’d thought about the public library back then, as that would have helped.
And let’s not forgot the new cars being introduced by Dinah Shore…..“See the USA in your Chevrolet”…….only drawback rabbit ears and having to hold them while my dad watched the game!
