Many lockable dumpster covers are made of plastic. Bears are pretty good at breaking plastic.
On a bear-ly related note, a friend of mine has a Coleman cooler that was molested by a bear. At least half of the outer skin on it is torn, ripped or broken off.
We were camping in the Ocala Nat. Forrest many years ago. My friends wife left our eggs out overnight because they were in a plastic container, made just for eggs. I don’t know how much trouble the raccoons had getting it open, or if they even got it open. They took the whole thing.
