It could have been worse. Alix couild have been assigned “Moby Dick”. Read that one myself. Never again. It’s a slog that will turn ANY bookworm off from reading. ;-D

Yeah, Moby Dick was inexplicable. I soldiered my way through the entire thing but realized about 85 pages from the end that I had wound up reading The Hobbit.

Response to Phil in panel-2 — that’s way more than Holly even WANTS to know or remember!

So perhaps Phil can discuss it with Holly by asking her specific questions that will pique her interest enough to read it.

Well, how much is ‘too much’, Val? I guess she left an escape clause there.

I would have told her that was the novel from which the first Hunger Games film was made and to just review the film and it would be fine.

If I was Holly though mom said no I would watch the video after reading the book to compare. There was one book I read and network had the movie on and there was a difference between the two and not for a school project.I feel we are in mourning with daily close to an end. I know we have Sunday but makes me sad.

Now I did before cannot figure out how to make comments about Jan’s retirement to Sunday’s on W side. I feel even though have Sunday’s feed in mourning. Six days long time before a strip comes. Will GC keep the old strips so we can go back to reread?

To Kill A Mockingbird was one of the best books I ever had to read for school! And I think I was Holly’s age when I read it! Just be thankful you don’t have to read Great Expectations! Now that book, I would save my child the horror of having to read.

This is such a great book. She is lucky. That was one of the VERY VERY FEW books we had to read for English that I actually LIKED. Very good book. 10/10
