Ignoring things never solved any problems. Worrying didn’t either, granted, but at least paying attention allows you to know when you can or can’t help.

Nothing good ever came out of trying to control anything (or anyone especially!) Waste of good energy. I agree with you Sheila, ignorance is NOT bliss, but neither is allowing uncontrollable things to eat you up!.

This one is appropriate today… I should be working on the things that worry me, but instead I’m ignoring them by reading the comics. :-D

Just like my philosophy of always having “a nice day” — selective memory.

I control my toast by setting it back to where it belongs after the cleaning lady swipes by the lever and fixes it so I get “burnt offerings” the next day. I MUST remember to beat her.Severely.

Yep, the media likes to keep you nice and paranoid and neurotic because you’re more likely to buy stuff for comfort that way. Your kids are safer than they’ve ever been, but you’d never know that from TV or paper.

I think that is the reason I like cooking. I can control good food. Not much else.

Yes, but can he control the TOASTER? Almost every toaster I’ve seen has a bunch of settings, and they all burn the bread; you have to manually interrupt the toasting to get edible toast.
