Obviously there needed to be some exceptions for people who were just visiting for one reason or another. Many immigrants have been her for many years. The idea of sending kids who grew up here and are now as American as you or I back to a country they perhaps have never seen is immoral and just plain evil. Most immigrants are hard working family people who make a significant contribution to our economy. They should be given a path to citizenship. The idea of deporting 12 million people is impractical, expensive, and makes no sense at all. Building another Berlin wall on the border is equally useless, expensive and just plain stupid.
If there were no Republican or Democratic parties - just representatives who tried to do what is best, for the most of the citizenry - the immigrant solution could be humane. The opposing but irrelevant, political ideologies (political parties), although mandated by the constitution, in this one exceptional instance, do not seem to helpful.
“This is my rifle and this is my gun, this is for hunting and this is for fun.” Well if shooting yourself, your kid, your neighbor, or anyone who looks “suspicious”, like an “anchor family”, is fun.
“Hand jobs” are in fact much safer than hand guns.(and rifles don’t even come close on the casualty figures)
Please, read United States vs. Wong Kim Ark to understand the Constitutionality of birth right citizenship. As for “under the jurisdiction of,” every person currently present in the United States, except for diplomats, are under the jurisdiction of the United States, the state and locality they are in. This applies to US citizens, legal immigrants, foreign tourists — and yes — illegal immigrants. The same rule applies to Americans visiting or living abroad except for US diplomats.

Like the Republicans believe the 2nd amendment definition of a Well Regulated Militia is any individual who wants a gun.

Interesting that Cruz may be just a “drag line”, rather than an actual “anchor”, at least to the U.S. via Canada.
