He’s a cat, it’s what cats do, following their evolutionary imperative.

While I was still sleeping, my cat would drape headless bunnies across my chest as a present some spring mornings. He was a gourmet and kept the heads for his own consumption.

Anti-hunters always have this saying that “humans are the only ones who kill for fun.” None of them ever owned a cat.

Cats are not just carnivores, they are obligate carnivores, meaning they have to eat meat to survive. Feed a cat a strictly vegetarian diet and it will die (they can’t synthesize one of the essential amino acids, taurine, I think). Dogs and humans, in contrast, can survive just fine on a vegetarian diet.
