The Republicans' Deep field
Woman: There's the loudmouth pig who refreshingly talks like a real person.
Man 1: And a couple dozen stage managed boredom bots who all say the same thing.
Man 2: So many to choose from!
The most important thing is to elect a president who will do the most good for the most people. Given the nature of the world situation, that means people around the world, as well as Americans. Throw all the allegations you like, “conservatives”, I’d take Hillary over any Republican currently running. Hillary’s chief advisor, flawed though he may be, presided over a healthy economy and wielded power overseas wisely.
As one of the “people of the world” you refer to, piobaire, I’d pick the “loudmouth pig” over the mass murdering war criminal and Wall Street shill whose only qualification is her gender so as to get the so-called liberal vote. Thank you.
Do you think he, or any of the other Republicans would be less of a suck-up to Wall Street or less likely to wage overseas wars to protect the assets of the rich and powerful? Anyone who believes that is delusional.
In 2008 I was excited about the prospect of Obama being elected. I walked door to door soliciting votes. I donated substantial dollars. I hosted phone parties. Since then I haven’t given a rat’s tush about electoral politics.
piobaireNo, if not president, he his more valuable in the Senate. Of course, President of the Senate, while not getting to vote as often, wouldn’t be too bad, but the 12th Amendment rather killed that possibility (and properly, too).
The reason most candidates do not want to emphasize the issue of immigration the way Trump has, is probably that they have read some history and found out that the Republican Party became associated with anti-immigrant politics in the early 20th century and as a result lost the ‘ethnics’ — millions and millions of votes — until 1980 at least. These days, Italians, Jews and Slavs are White enough, but they weren’t back in 1920 apparently.
There is also the problem of finding and kicking 11 million people out of the US.

On the other hand, if HRC is the eventual winner, I’d sure like to see Bernie Sanders’ get at least a cabinet position.
