Brad Anderson, creator of “Marmaduke” cartoon strip for more than 60 years has died. He was 91. Anderson was honored in 2013 with a lifetime achievement award from The National Cartoonists Society. May he R.I.P.

August seems to be a deadly month for funny people … we should definitely cancel August next year.

He started this in 1954? Any chance of doing the same thing that was done for Peanuts and start running the early ones from 1954?

Given the average life expectancy for a Great Dane is less than 10 years, I expect Marmaduke is a unique exception and could be with us for quite some time, depending on what Phil Anderson, Brad’s son, does with the strip…

Paul Anderson is his son, and I’m fairly sure he will continue the strip.
