There was a “heritage” rally to save the confederate flag in Georgia over the weekend. One of the rules was simple: “No racial slurs.” That lasted abut 10 minutes.http://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/stone-mountain-confederate-flag-rally

Fun Fact: Godwin’s Law is not an actual law!

Another Fun Fact: Anyone who thinks the law says “anybody who mentions Nazis loses instantly” has never even read the law, and is just throwing the words around because he or she saw them somewhere else and was impressed.

The Wolf In Your Midst: A solar symbol in India and Scandinavia (pre-WW-II, Finland used a pale blue for military aircraft, and Latvia a dark red, both on a white background). A four winds symbol in US southwest. In Germany, the Hakenkreuz (hooked cross) was an anti-Christian symbol, like the fire-hate burning in the KKK.

Revisionist History. In reality, there was a peaceful separation until the Union blockade of Charleston Harbor.

By your definition, the “Stars and Stripes” and the “Don’t tread on me” flags were treasonous also. How many British lives were taken in the name of that “armed insurrection?”

For the record, I’d like to resurrect the “original purpose of these symbols” be it the Swastika, or the St Andrew’s Cross.

Imagine if the KKK marched into a town and all the people they are trying to intimidate were carrying a Swastika flag, or a St Andrews Cross flag…

Not all heritage is good. Not all heritage are things of pride. The flags of the ones who acted dishonorably should not be celebrated. They are things of shameThe media keeps us distracted with this kind of thing, which causes in-fighting instead of coming together to make positive change is too effective.

festin: Ft. Sumter was built to protect Charleston from invasion by sea. When the Star arrived with supplies, some drunken frat boys opened fire on it, thus ending “peaceful separation”. They tried it in my part of Texas with the “gentlemen’s agreement” that whoever won the election would have the support of the losers. The counties on the Red River voted 3:2 for Union and the next row south 3:2 for secession. The burning and hanging of the pro-Union citizens started immediately and was still going on in the late 1930s (which is why my mother took a year to qualify for Social Security – a lynch mob burned the only copy of her birth certificate along with the Grayson County courthouse). Ignore traitors’ lies and go to the original sources.
