How can Teena’s parents afford a pool? What do they do that brings in so much money?I know her dad is an artist but the vast majority of artists are living in poverty unless supported by others.
I’ve known friends with pool, and yes, they are a lot of work. My husband wanted us to have one, but I know him well enough to know after a couple of years, I’d be the one stuck doing the maintenance. Plus, didn’t want to have to worry about kids drowning (they were pretty young when he wanted one). We did make our kids take swimming lessons, but I’ve never regretted not having a pool of our own.
It would be a lot of work. I remember my friend had one and I didn’t get invited over to swim as often as I would have liked. When I complained to my mother she suggested I volunteer to help them with the upkeep. That went down like a lead balloon.
