And the day before yesterday served as the 201st anniversary of Brookeville being the U.S. capital for a day.

1945… wow…somewhere, I’m thinking, there’s a closetful of cloned Lenins, once intended as an army that would help their creator in his quest for world domination….

But due to a little artificial patch, no security forces ever investigated, or even became suspicious. This could have been a dangerous situation (or a B-movie.)

Oh well… no worries…..the plan obviously failed; the Lenins all just turned 70…These days they’re more interested in watching TV, commenting on GoComics, and complaining about the weather than in taking over the world.

I think the Iberian Lizard and X-Man Wolverine might share a little DNA.

When the Wehrmacht was closing in on Moscow in 1941, Lenin’s body was secretly removed from his crypt, and spirited away to the east for safe keeping. I don’t know when it was brought back, but 1945 sounds about right, and would explain the missing foot.

Lots of cities have served as capital for a day, including the next town over from mine.

Is our Iberian newt related to the porcupine? Or, the horned toad?
