Many little kids don’t have their feet reach the floor when they are sitting in chairs. I was so short that my feet didn’t reach the floor even when I stood up.
My husband is tall, and I am short. He used to call us “Mutt and Jeff” until I told him Jeff was the short one! When he realized that made him a “Mutt”, he stopped saying it.

I’m 71 and my feet STILL don’t reach the floor when I sit in most chairs.
