In a parallel, sane world. (Man 1: During Vietnam, I served...served... in the peace movement.) The lie started so easily. Soon he was sayin it so often he believed it himself. (Man 1: It was a disgusting, illegal and unpopular war. Which is why, like all good young men, I ducked the draft.) (Woman: Right on!) But then: (Man 2: What're you rappin' about man? You were a war hero! We killed gooks together!) (Woman: Wh-? No! Not me!!) Next: The apology. But can he save this policial career? (Man 3: You stole the honor of those who fought for peace.) (Man 4: It's just so tempting to deny being a tool of war-moners!)

My final draft classification was 4Y–“conscientious objector excused from alternative civilian duty due to a physical disability.”
How I wish I could reach that parallel universe!

When he’s hot, he’s hot. A very interesting and thought-provoking cartoon.

Looks like now in addition to the Democrat who “slipped up” we have a Republican who did the same. Of course that bill that a Republican Congressman is pitching to make it a misdemeanor targets him as well, right?
As for the comic, <3 Ted Rall.

By definition, those who “serve” are servile.

So, who gets the Nobel War Prize in such a world?
zekedog55 almost 14 years ago

Texts are textile, nubs are nubile, and args are argyle.

The Republican was Illinois rep Mark Kirk, who looked like a decent shot at taking Obama’s own Senate seat, which the GOP would have loved, but it turns out it is rather worse than Blumenthal, who did at least mostly say “Vietnam-era.” Kirk said explicitly he was Navy Intelligence Officer of the Year for 1998 or 1999 – depending on when he spoke. He wasn’t. Now he says he confused the award with one given to his entire unit for outstanding service. Oopsie! With a memory that bad, should he run for public office?
WarBush almost 14 years ago
^According to the right wingers yes, since he’s one of them.
No if he’s democratic.

^^^ And Reps are reptile? and Dems are demented? (Equal time.)

HOWGOZIT, if you’re referring to John Kerry, even if you believe the Swift Boaters – and since they’ve set themselves up to be professional Demo-Haters, I’m not sure why one should – that means he has TWO Purple Hearts, received when he went to Vietnam, whereas Bush bailed on his National Guard service which his daddy got him to avoid actual fighting service (unlike his father). Let’s compare apples with apples, shall we?

And Sens are senile, both GOP and DEM.

Just to move off topic, slightly, back into the real, insane world: the Democrats lost their super majority by one. Now the Republicans control the senate. Does that make the Republicans Bolsheviks?
Just to confuse the issue further: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bolshevik

The newest incarnation of Jordaner has hit 58 pages already today. (Yesterday’s model only struck 10 pages, which was surprisingly low, and I flagged them all. I won’t even try that today.) This is becoming as unstoppable as the oil leak, and if there are no consequences for such disruptive nuisance behavior, then maybe it’s time to rethink and redefine freedom of speech on the Internet.

^Time to complain to the administrators.

What more can you do than flag, flag, flag?

Alas, a lot of multiverse membranes will have to be penetrated before we come to the parallel, sane universe which Ted Rall attempts to described here….
