Took the fam on a cross country trip over the summer A stop along the way was one of the 7 natural wonders of the world welcome to Grand Canyon National park The vastness of it all impressed everybody except one. Intense!! awesome!! eh!! it aint do big!! the visti was not without its share of foolishness though... KN: Look at those people down there Theyve hopped the safety fence to take the selfies right at the edge of the canyon! The stupidity of it all impressed none of us except one, How come they get it go all the way out here? Its not fair!!

My wife and I were doing a quick drive-by, hitting all the overlooks. She finally stopped getting out: “It’s just a big hole in the ground.”
The meteorite crater did impress her, though; she didn’t know what we were stopping for, and when you get the first view, she said, “Whoa!”. That’s about it, though. Rockies, Carlsbad, Sequoia Nat’l Park: nothing. A real Nature Girl.

Yup—I was one of the guys going beyond the “Do not cross” barriers to take photos during my visit to the Canyon years ago. I remember one of Dad and me, where we were standing at the edge of a rock, in front of a big drop-off. Smart? Not so much. Good photos? Heck, yeah. Great trip.
