Gramma Evie: Well, no kiddo is thrilled with the idea of their mom dating. Alix: We didn't make it easy... Alix: Hi, Val. I'm supposed to be your date, but I'm not going to be. Mommies shouldn't have dates. Mommies shouldn't have dates. Mommies should devote ALL their time to their sweet little boys and girls. Alix: Bye bye! Val: This might be harder than I thought.

Interesting. I would have pictured Alix as the more secure and accepting of the two. That’s the kind of stuff I would have expected to see from Holly.

When Hubby and I started dating, our three daughters were delighted. Mine adored him, and his loved me, and could wait for us to get married.

Can you believe I’ve even heard adults chastise single mothers for going on dates! Granted, this was on Facebook but I remember reading a status of a single mom where one of her “friends” told her she would be better off staying home with her kids. Of course, I don’t know the history behind the comment, maybe she went out every night, I don’t know. Either way, it was jarring to read such a horrible comment to a single mom trying to have a dating life with her new man.

@comicsssfan, you’re right; I definitely sense a 40s glamour (so stylish, they need a “u”!) vibe with Val and Phil.
