Our granddaughter once pulled up beside a young studling and told him “Nice car”. He beamed and preened, and then she drove off with a quick “It’s a shame it didn’t come with blinkers”.
I would say that there is nothing as humiliating as to be put down with a very polite humiliation. Because what can you do? If a person is just rude and tells you to f**k off you can just give a rude comment back. But when they do it with finesse and in a polite manner you just stand there and grasp after anything to say.
