I hope everyone had a fabulous Fourth! The house is still standing and Dale is still out front with a hose…….the backyard has been watered down as well. Huge BOOMS going off all around us.I’m going to bed I’ll probably be awake, the idiots around here don’t stop until 2 or 3 am!

DryI just read your post from last nite, I’m sorry, he sounded like a wonderful person, I miss my Dad too, he knew everything despite only having an 8th grade education, I spent every Saturday with him, just the two of us all my childhood, He would have been 118 now, Doesn’t seem possible.Memories are wonderful things, we filter out the bad bits and keep the good ones, Remember the good times!Hugs from me!

12:46 AM PDT. The war is still raging outside my house!! Gibbs is zoned out on Xanax but won’t leave my side. He’s my Siamese dog, stuck to my side! Hope you all had a safe 4th. It was really hot here but a nice breeze so not too bad. No rain in the forecast for as long as I can see. Not a fan of hot sunny weather! Native Washingtonians can’t go very long without rain! This one at least!

Nary a sound here last night. Even the fireworks held in town at one of the schools is too far away.

Can anyone tell me? I thought it would come up when I signed in but it doesn’t.

2 old our dads in their 100’s, yes, it is hard to imagine. And yes, good memories for both of us that we carry on in our lives.

I’m guessing that there are a lot of Americans feeling like this this morning…..

Chick magnet

This has happened a lot in the past. But we’ve moved the bird baths and feeders away from the windows. We still get occasional bird hits, but I’ve managed about 98% saves. Depending on the weather, I put them in either a warm or cold place and keep an eye on them. If they start coming to, I’ll offer them something to drink, they blink, and off they go! I get to see them up close this way.

My dog buddy made it through last night. It took 2 back to back doses of Xanax. He was attached to my hip all night but we got past the combination of thunderstorms and illegal fireworks. I just wish I could make him understand it will be alright but I can’t. At least the kitties tried to help calm him down though. They are sweet to him when they want to be. Good day to all at Ten Cats.

Was thinking of all the nervous poochies last night. Glad they survived okay!

TC is cute today. The bird didn’t want to wait until the cat finished his speech…would have bored him to death. Ha!That pic of Poseidon cat is too cool! Even jf it might be photoshopped, still cool.

Surprise! The BOOMS stopped about 12:45, not a peep after!Amazing.

Had a short but pretty strong thunderstorm here in Birmingham about 4.45 this afternoon. Big Man came in from the backyard when it started getting dark and cloudy, then after the first couple of rumbles of thunder, Bucky came running up the backyard and into the house.

Final adoptions for today: my last black kitten. 3 kittens that Susan picked up from their foster mom this morning. An adult pastel tortie that was turned in to the shelter last week. Odin and his brother, Zeus went to the same home. These were the ones that guy left behind when he moved.

She’s bringing back the last kitten to me – the brother of the one I have here. These were being fostered by the lady who left on vacation.

It’s kind of good because this one has a mouth that won’t be quiet. He wants his playmate back. I was tempted to get out the duct tape. :)

That makes 11 for the weekend!
