Now I’ve forgotten everything I learned on the TV police procedurals..For a twin, wouldn’t fingerprints be a better test than DNA?

As I said 24 July——fingerprint him. Identical twins match in looks, but NOT in fingerprints.

A lot of things to comment about today:First, I still feel very sorry for Joel as he got caught up in this mess even though he tried very hard to convince Rufus it was a bad, bad idea. Second, I feel bad for Joel as he has not seemingly had his pipe with him now since last Wednesday’s comic!!!!! That is a week in real time, although the whole story perhaps has been only a couple of hours. But, Joel’s pipe is a sort of “security blanket” of sorts for him (like Linus’ blanket is for him). Many of us pipe smokers know this feeling.Third, Joel looks pretty handsome without his hat! My wife has suggested he looks a helluva lot like me. [grin] Fourth… I am not sure if “a crust ’o pizza” is some sort of alliterative phrase I am not getting or if it is meant as is. I would appreciate other’s opinions.Fifth… Unfortunately, Joel, the DNA between Rufus and his identical twin brother, Magnus, will also be identical, so the idea of looking at DNA is not going to be fruitful.Fifth…. and finally…. Joel will have to do some heavy thinking to figure out the way out of this mess that he did not get the two of them into. But, I am sure he will be able to figure it all out and make it work in the end.

Magnus is gone but they didn’t say when he escaped. The warden only cares that he no longer (officially) has an escaped prisoner, his books balance.

“Ain’t you got a crust o’ pizza t’test his dna?” What in the world am I missing here? A crust of pizza? What is that supposed to mean?

It may be a stretch, but a recent local arson/homicide suspect was arrested after the FBI found DNA on a pizza crust.

The thing with the DNA is that I don’t think a prison would routinely have DNA records of all their prisoners. DNA tests are much cheaper than they used to be, but I think they are still relatively expensive. Fingerprints are very cheap.
