To all those hard working people out there(posters above) with messy lawns, I too have a messy lawn (which is relatively small), I was just being in character with the strip in the sense that some people recommend that it is cut 2-3 times a week (during the main growing season (heat and water levels apply)) to maintain it at its optimum.
Personally I don’t like the constant buzz of the mower though out the week and every Saturday, I also like to let the wild flowers that are in my lawn be of benefit to various wildlife.
PIERS, I hope you see this! I am behind in my queue, and just now saw your July 5 strip. The takeoff on DIRTY HARRY WAS GREAT! WELL DONE! That one’s a KEEPER!

Cut your lawn 2 times a week, then you won’t loose things in the grass.
