Wow. Never realized that was what he was singing. I honestly didn’t think much about it and assumed “you ain’t nothing but a reb(garbled) and you ain’t…”
“you ain’t never caught a rabbit, and you ain’t no friend of mine” as I recall. Which could be saying catching a rabbit is good… could go either way
The problem being, “ain’t never” is a double negative, so this means that the subject in question DID catch a rabbit, and IS a friend…
