Absolutely RIGHT! The districts are gerrymandered to be either solid R or solid D, thinking this is fair. They need to all be competetive.
But the other problem is, we vote purely on name recognition. This is why a Bush and a Clinton are the most likely candidates. And we don’t care if the recognition comes from good or bad behaviour.
@Northern RedmanYou are right, also they play the race card very well, they would and did elect a black person, or a latino, as president as long he doesn’t live in their neighborhood.
I worry about the unintended consequences of rejecting this treaty … thought we were capitalists not socialists. Or is this just because the elections are getting closer and the politicians want to pretend that they care?
The problem wasn’t trade, but “fast track” that would give more power to corporate culls. We need to improve our trade imbalance and start exporting agricultural and “trade” goods. But as so much manufacturing in the U.S. has been outsourced already, and more turned over to robots, exactly where does “trade” change the current corporate model of no unions, fewer workers, and higher profits for CEOs and major stockholders.
There’s a lot more problematic in our culture than just the “fast track”. Which, even if you give it to the current dude, what happens if the next one is even worse?
The line item veto makes sense, sending portions of bills back for additional consideration, or improvements, not just elimination, makes sense, but they won’t pass that.
Why should that surprise you? The uber lib voters of this country elected “O” twice based on no other reason than “he was black”. It should be becoming painfully obvious that he has no qualifications for the office.
First, OMG, mdavis said something that made sense!Second, the American people twice elected Obama, knowing the alternative was disaster. Third, I applaud both Democrats and republicans for defeating this part of what someone called" the cherry on the s—- sundae that is TPP."It wouldn’t help any of you con posters, just your wealthy masters.
I think for myself! Maybe you should put down the Kool Aid and try it? Shall I name all the Dun-key losers for you like Reid, Boxer, Pelosi…. I can go on for a long, long time or just stop any time but to be fair I have to throw in the biggest LOSER Hillary. What a piece of work that one is.
And, the opposition came from both sides because “O” wanted them to approve it without reading the fine print. Congress would be really stupid to fall for that “O” tactic again.
