They’re not allowed to make sonic booms over the US these days. That’s too bad. When I was a very young child, I heard sonic booms all the time from an air force base less than 5 miles by air from my home. I suppose they must have annoyed the adults, but I recognized that they were cool.

P.S. We lived next to Glenview Naval Air Base and while no sonics, it was noisy, practice touch and go during weekends and what was heart breaking, wounded soldiers that would be brought there and transferred to Great Lakes.
